Dr. Robin C. Wilson was born in Peoria, Illinois. She moved to Peru, South America, when she was three years old. Dr. Robin lived thirteen years in a small mining town called Toquepala, near Tacna in the Peruvian Andes at 12,000 feet with her family. Her father was involved in copper mining. She eventually moved back to the United States and the Peoria area to become an intensive care nurse. She graduated from Bradley University in 1975 with her BSN.
After six years in nursing, she decided to return to professional school to become an Optometrist, graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago, Illinois, in 1985.
Meeting her husband, Dr. James P. Wilson, in Chicago, the Doctors Wilson moved back to the Peoria area and worked in private practice Optometry and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Robin is also a member of Illinois VOSH (Volunteering Optometric Services to Humanity) and has been on mission trips to Ecuador South America, and Morocco Africa to help restore vision to thousands of the poor.
Dr. Robin Wilson’s hobbies include international cooking and cuisine, collecting cookbooks, gardening, canning, bicycling, and shopping.
